A Nightingale Sang

A New Musical

Music and Lyrics by Lori Robinson Distel
Book and Concept by Piper J. Distel

Orchestrations by Alexander Reed
Directed by Lori Distel

Following a successful concert presentation of the music,

Penny & Pound is pleased to present the fully-staged version of the new musical,

A Nightingale Sang!
Gaelleon Pfeiffer, a Roma Gypsy born of sin and disappointment into a world that can only see the colour of his olive skin, finds himself on the wrong side of Poland's Nazi invasion. His troubled past meets present when childhood best friend, Cary Schoenberg, entangles him in a white lie and an irrefutable job offer that becomes a matter of life or death.
Inspired by stories from Leszno Street- 'the Broadway of the Warsaw Ghetto-'

A Nightingale Sang is endearing, heartbreaking and deeply inspiring.

The Hollow

A classic mystery

By Agatha Christie
Directed by Corina Dunn

An unhappy game of romantic follow-the-leader explodes into murder one weekend at The Hollow, home of Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell, arguably Christie’s finest comic grande dame. Dr. Cristow, the Harley Street lothario, is at the center of the trouble when, assembled in one place, we find his dull but devoted wife, Gerda, his mistress and prominent sculptor, Henrietta and his former lover and Hollywood film star, Veronica. Also visiting are Edward and Midge, whose romantic assertions are likewise thrown into the mix. As the list of romantic associations grows so does the list of potential suspects when someone is shot dead. Nearly everyone has a motive, but only one of them did the deed.
