ABOUT THE PROGRAM

For nearly a decade, Penny & Pound Theatre Productions has been a driving force in youth theatre education in Southwestern Ontario. Now, for the first time, we are pleased to present our JUNIOR INTENSIVE- a performance program designed specifically for young performers in Grades 4-8 who are looking to immerse themselves in the world of theatrical arts! Over the course of nine months, students will experience all aspects of theatre production while working towards performing a full-scale musical. Guided by experienced theatre veterans and bi-monthly guests, students are encouraged to take risks and grow in both their art and their confidence!
All students who register will be able to take part in this exciting project!

STUDENTS WILL...

  • Learn the fundamentals of musical theatre and performance including theatre terminology, script analysis, character creation, vocal techniques (spoken and musical), choreography, staging and improvisation

  • Experience all aspects of theatrical production including costuming, set and prop creation, and theatre tech

  • Learn and receive mentorship from experienced industry professionals

  • Earn high school volunteer hours

  • Grow in confidence and skill in a safe and encouraging environment dedicated to their comfort and well-being

  • Create lifelong friendships
